Doodlebugs After School Club: creative fun for children
Welcome to the Doodlebugs Arts & Crafts After School Club! We offer a unique and nurturing environment where children can unwind after school, engage in exciting activities, and make new friends. Discover how we provide a calm and inspiring space for every child.

Engaging activities and creative exploration
At our After School Club, children can dive into a world of creativity with arts, crafts, and even sewing. We offer a variety of games and foster new friendships in a relaxed atmosphere. We understand children have had a busy day at school, so our focus is on allowing them to relax and enjoy themselves. Our club maintains a maximum of 16 children, allowing for personalised attention and a calm environment. We provide healthy snacks for those joining us from local school pickups, encouraging children to try new things and learn about healthy eating. Children can then choose an optional art or craft activity, or simply enjoy free play with options like kinetic sand, clay, and various games.

A special and supportive environment
What makes our After School Club truly unique is our commitment to a small, supportive group. With only 16 children per session, we foster an environment where older children naturally help the younger ones, building a strong sense of community. We introduce new arts and crafts techniques, allowing children to develop new skills. For moments of quiet, we have a calming corner with a sensory tent and calming practices like kinetic sand and playdoh. The atmosphere is consistently calm and relaxed, with soothing music playing to help children unwind and feel at ease.

Age groups and enrolment options
Our After School Club is designed for children aged 4 to 11 years. For older children, we also offer clubs running alongside for ages 7 to 16 years, which are detailed in another section. We provide two main options for joining: the walking bus option and the drop-off option. For the walking bus, we pick up from local schools from 3pm. During this walk, we emphasise the importance of exercise, nature, and looking out for each other. This option runs from 3pm to 6pm. The drop-off option is available from 4pm to 6pm, where children from various schools and areas can join us for arts, crafts, and needlecraft activities, as well as our Art Programme. The needlecraft and Art Programme are specifically for children aged 7 plus. In the 3pm to 6pm class, we collect children, provide a healthy snack and water, and all children can participate in arts and crafts, taking home their creations with all materials included. Children can also enjoy free play, sensory activities, Lego, a reading corner, a calming corner, and even assistance with homework or projects. Please note that the two classes differ in price as one is 3 hours and the other is 2 hours.
