🌟 Special Guests at Doodlebugs 🐞
Celebrating Community, Creativity & Connection
At Doodlebugs, we love opening our doors to local heroes, leaders and friendly faces from our community — and our young artists do too! 🖌️✨
Over the years, we’ve been honoured to welcome some truly wonderful guests who have popped by to meet our creative children, take part in activities and see the joy that arts and crafts bring to the heart of our club.
👋 Who’s Dropped In?
🧑⚖️ Local councillors & mayors
👮 Friendly local police officers
🏛️ Our area’s MP
🧑🚒 Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs)
🎨 Local artists & creatives
…and even a few surprise guests who just couldn’t resist the glitter!
We love showing them what our Doodlebugs can do — and our guests always leave with smiles (and often, a handmade creation or two!).
🎉 Because at Doodlebugs… it takes a village, and ours is full of stars. 💛
Thanks to all our special guests — past, present and future — for making our club even more magical!

We were delighted to welcome Madam Mayor Teresa Heritage to Doodlebugs Art & Craft Summer Holiday Camp in 2025.
St Albans Mayor, Councillor Jamie Day & Mayoress Liz Day
It was wonderful to welcome St Albans Mayor, Councillor Jamie Day and Mayoress Liz Day to Doodlebugs during our Summer Holiday Camp in 2024.
Cllr Rowlands – Mayor of the City & District of St Albans
We were thrilled to welcome Cllr Rowlands, Mayor of the City & District of St Albans, to Doodlebugs during our Summer Holiday Camp in 2023.
High Sheriff of Hertfordshire
We were delighted to welcome the High Sheriff of Hertfordshire to Doodlebugs during our October Half Term Holiday Camp in 2024.
The children loved meeting her, and she joined in with their Halloween creativity, adding her own touch to our spooky doodle art on black paper. Witches, wizards and spider pom-poms took over the craft tables as everyone got creative together, making it a truly memorable Halloween experience.
Daisy Cooper MP
Daisy Cooper MP, St Albans MP, has visited Doodlebugs on several occasions to meet the children and take part in our creative activities.
In November 2023, the Herts Advertiser covered Daisy's visit, when she joined the children to talk about mental health with our founders.
Daisy also joined us for our VE Day celebrations in May 2025, taking part in the children's VE Day art activities. She said:
“It was great to visit the brilliant Doodlebugs Arts & Crafts club in London Colney again, and join the kids in their VE Day art activities.
They run many fantastic groups and activities, helping children to express their creativity!”

PCSO Deborah Daniels, PCSO Latoyah Henry & PCSO Charlie Lumm
A huge thank you to PCSO Deborah Daniels, PCSO Latoyah Henry and PCSO Charlie Lumm from our local community police team for their visits to Doodlebugs — each one was both fun and meaningful.
By joining in with the Doodlebugs fun — Latoyah knitting, Deborah painting and Charlie using handcuffs as a stencil — they helped children see a friendly, approachable side of community policing.
These positive early connections can help build trust, understanding and a stronger sense of community.
